Dear Jassoys,
Judith Layton and her husband from the UK ("UK branch" of the 
Jassoys) are planning to go to Metz after the reunion to try to see 
the Jassoy coat of arms and the "Jassoy village". If anyone else is  
interested in joining the trip to Metz, France (3-4 hours by car from 
Hanau, but I am not sure if the plans were to go forth and back on 
the same day), please let me or them know (john.layton@ntlworld.com).

Das erste Treffen soll am 25.26. Sept. 2009 in Hanau stattfinden.

Einladungen werden verschickt und verbindliche Zusagen sollen eine Orgasnisation ermöglichen.

Liebe Träger des Namens Jassoy,

liebe Verwandte unserer hugenottischen Vorfahren,

nach längerer Vorbereitungszeit und ermutigt durch das große Interesse, möchten wir Sie sehr herzlich zu einem internationalen Treffen in der Stadt einladen, in der unsere aus Metz stammenden Vorfahren um 1700 für viele Jahre eine neue Heimat gefunden hatten, nach Hanau.

Dazu haben wir ein kleines Programm vorbereitet, das uns dabei helfen soll die gemeinsame Vergangenheit zu erhellen.

Bitte teilen Sie uns Ihre verbindliche Teilnahme bis zum 5. August 2009 mit. Für Stadtführung, Mittagessen und Abendessen am Samstag erbitten wir einen Unkostenbeitrag von 50 €.

Für eine eventuell notwendige Übernachtung bietet das Hotel Villa Stokkum Zimmer an (EZ/DZ 77,00 € pro Nacht, ohne Frühstück). Dieses Angebot ist gültig bis 15.August 2009.

Dear Jassoys and relatives,

We cordially invite you to the first reunion of the descendents of the Jassoy family on September 25-26, 2009 in Hanau, Germany.

Based on the book “Unsere hugenottischen Vorfahren” (Our Huguenot Ancestors) written by August Jassoy of Frankfurt, Germany, and published in 1908, all living Jassoys are descendents of a family living in Metz, France, for two hundred years until they had to leave the country. The Jassoys came first to Hanau at around 1700.

We have prepared a little program that you may find below. Please let us know if you are interested in the reunion and would like to attend ASAP, so that we can plan and organize in more detail.

Saturday, September 26

10:00 am Guided city tour "Huguenots in Hanau"(English /German)

12:00 am Meditation at the Walloon-Dutch church

12:45 am Lunch

2:30 pm Presentations and exchange of information about the Jassoy family from Metz to Hanau and beyond

7:00 pm  Dinner buffet

If you would like to attend, we ask for a contribution of 50,00 €/person to cover the expenses for the city tour, lunch and dinner on Saturday.
